Career Development - Resources

After reading a number of blogs this past weekend, I noticed that one common theme this year is career development. As I focus in on my own 2008 Career Development Plan, I am finding more and more great resources that will definitely help me achieve my goals. So being the wonderfully divine being that I am, I decided to share those awesome sites with you all:

  • *CLICK - Ten Truths for Building Extraordinary Relationships: I heard this gentleman, George C. Fraser, speak on a popular talk radio show that I listen to on my drive home from work. Topic of discussion: Networking. He has a book out called Click and in the book you will find 10 simple principles that will help you master the art of networking.
    • -If you are interested in purchasing the book, click on the Amazon link below

That is all I have for the time being. If you would like to share some good sites/resources, just leave a comment or email me and I will update this post to include your info.

Wow. What a great and informative post. All of your resources except one are new to me. I'll definitely be checking them out. Thanks!

Are you going to do a book review of "Click"? I'd be interested in your thoughts. Another good networking book is "Never Eat Alone" by Keith Ferrazzi.

Thanks for the resources. It is also my time to set goals for my own career. Let me share with you the Young Entrepreneur Society from the www.YoungEntrepreneurSociety.com. Also a good resource for entrepreneurs.

Home Purchase Plan - How I faired

Back in January I developed my Home Purchase Plan (HPP for short). I listed exactly what I was looking for in my new home including my needs and wants. I printed up my HPP and carried it will me everywhere. I especially took it with me when I went house hunting with my agent. I had a momentary relapse (I'll explain more on that on another post) but got back on track and stuck to my guns. I ended up with a beautiful house that fits all my needs and wants. HOME PURCHASE PLAN The home I want: Price: $0 -> $190,000 $180,000 Ideal Monthly Mortgage (including taxes, PMI, HOA, & hazard) : $1200 (max $1300) $1310 Location: Surrounding Orlando Area Check Bedrooms: 3+ 4 Bathrooms: 2+ 2 Square footage: 1700 s.f. + 1810 sf Year Built: 2000+ 1998 HOA: $100/month max $150/yr NEEDS: * A-rated school district Check * Quick access to major highways Check * Good daycare Check * Nice

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Life has been extremely busy. Trying to get used to the extra responsibilities on top of my existing overflowing list. I will try my hardest to post my do's and don'ts of buying a house tonight. Hope all is well.
