Currently there are two links for opening a savings account and another two links for opening a checking account. Just click on the link of your choice, follow the steps, and open an account with at least $250. You will receive a $25 opening bonus and I will get $10 for the referral. Each link can only be used once and the ones posted on my blog expire on February 20. If you wind up selecting a used link just email me at dimplesdivine at gmail dot com and I will update my blog with new referral links. Ebates Ebates is offering a $10 sign-up bonus. I got my semi-annual bonus. It was $3K which makes $7500 this year. After taxes I got $2020. I still have $400 of my Christmas bonus and the $300 that is available since I skipped my loan payment with my bank. That makes a total of $2700 available to do as I please. And after much consideration I decided to go ahead and put ALL towards my credit card debt and not spend it on a trip to Hawaii like I originally planned. JUST KIDDING!!!! I only considered the trip for like a second..........OK maybe like a full minute but ya girl ain't crazy. tee hee . *ahem* Anyways. Wachovia Free Checking Promo

Looks like Wachovia is joining the bank bonus biz. They are currently offering a $50 bonus for opening a free checking account. You must open the account with $100 deposit and keep the account open for six months. There is no minimum account balance, no direct deposit requirement, no monthly fees, and includes free bill pay. The offer code is ATM2 and you must open an account by 1/30/08. As you all know, I have been in search of a bank to open a spending account with. Wachovia is a pretty good bank and their current promo is good. All other bank promos out there require too much and I don't need that much hassle for a little ole spending account. I called their 800 number and opened up an account with them. I also qualified for their "At Work" program because my employer banks with them. So I got my 1st checks for free and I get bonus rates on any loan I may take out with Wachovia. Not bad. They also have a referral program. You and the person who refers will ...

I am trying to figure out where to open up an account to use as my laptop fund. I am trying to find an ongoing bank bonus that I can take advantage of. Only thing is that I would also like to have access to my funds via a debit card. Only bank that does this is Citibank but I am not sure if I will qualify for their bank bonus since I already have an account with them. Anyways I ran across this Citibank promo and I thought I would share it with you guys: Fine print: This offer is not available at Citibank Financial Centers. † You must apply online at citibank.com or by phone to open a Citibank® Ultimate Money Account and link it to a checking account you have or open in one of the following qualifying relationship packages: Citibank® EZ Checking, Citibank Account, Citibank Everything Counts® or Citigold® Account. $200 Citibank Bonus - Expires 12/31/07

$200 Citibank Bonus Citibank is offering a $200 checking account bonus and the expiration date is 12/31/07. This is not an online promotion. There was a flyer with the promo code MGCH . The easiest way to apply for this promotion is by calling the Citibank number 1-866-810-9043 and mentioning this promo code. Warning: Citibank does do a hard credit inquiry through Experian! Also I am not positive on the minimum opening deposit requirement or minimum balance requirement. I suggest calling and finding out all the info from the rep you speak to.

Credit Card and Bank Bonus Sites I found

I decided to do some searching on other available credit card and bank bonuses. Here is a list of websites that list many credit card and bank bonuses. Some are current, others have expired: www.icardbonus.com www.cardbonuses.com www.ibankbonus.com www.ibankdesign.com Take caution in applying for many credit cards or opening many bank accounts. ALWAYS read the fine print. If you are trying to work on your credit score then opening up many credit cards is probably not the best thing for you to do right now. I have only opened 2 credit card accounts in the last 3 years. I will be willing to open up one more if the credit card bonus is a nice amount ($200 or higher). But aside from that I will stick with surveys sites, cash duck, and any other avenue I may discover. Dimps

High Yielding Savings Accounts

One of the most common things to pop out at me while researching the financial blogosphere was savings accounts with an APY of 4% or more. WOW! I didn't even know something like that existed. And I wanted to hop on one so quickly. I found out about the ING Direct Savings account thru Single Ma's blog and was about to open one up via one of her referral links. ING Direct was offering a $25 opening bonus but only with a minimum initial deposit of $250 with a curreny APY of 4.50%. Unfortunately I had to put a $400 deposit down for my apartment and did not have that extra $250 lying around. Thank goodness I didn't open it up. Looks like there are some banks offering pretty tempting incentives as well. One thing I have learned in the last couple of months since I started my Financial Empowerment Journey is to not be so quick to go with the first choice you see. Research, Compare, and and Choose the best option for you . With that said I have listed the following banks...
