May Budget

MAY BUDGET

The categories highlighted in yellow are uncontrollable increases in my budget from April. I am hoping to spend less or none of the categories highlighted in pink.

My budget tells me two things: I need to get rid of this debt pronto (lottery anyone) and I need to bring in more income.

MAY GOALS

Career
  • - Update resume
  • - Start job hunting and apply
  • - Practice for upcoming interviews (I haven't done an interview in 3 years)

Business
  • - Obtain domain name
  • - Look into starting a website
  • - Order business cards
  • - Network
  • - Start business plan
  • - Research

Finances
  • - Bring in more secondary income
  • - Spend less
  • - Reevaluate debt payoff plan

Health
  • - Plan and start exercise regimen (gosh! I swear this is ALWAYS on my goal list...lol)
  • - Do a detox
  • - Look for a spa or clinic that does colonics

Spiritual/Emotional Health
  • - Start meditating again
  • - Read
  • - Plan a mini vacay for this summer (perhaps in June)

Try freewebs.com for your website. They now let you create a domain name free and you can create a site for free or for a min charge. It all depends on what you want but I use them for my online business and I have no complaints.

@ hip hop

I do have savings. I currently have about $3600 in my savings which is made up of my E-fund and other misc savings accounts. I do not have set savings system where I set money aside each month. I put part of my tax refund towards my E-fund and will put ALL of my rebate plus $100 to make an even $1000 in my E-fund. At the moment I am concentrating on clearing out my debt.

@ rhonalala

Thank you so much for the site. I will definitely look into it. I love free stuff.

What kind of business do you have? Can you give a sista some tips?

I know a colonics place in your area, and the lady's very good. Several people that I know go and think she does a good job.

Home Purchase Plan - How I faired

Back in January I developed my Home Purchase Plan (HPP for short). I listed exactly what I was looking for in my new home including my needs and wants. I printed up my HPP and carried it will me everywhere. I especially took it with me when I went house hunting with my agent. I had a momentary relapse (I'll explain more on that on another post) but got back on track and stuck to my guns. I ended up with a beautiful house that fits all my needs and wants. HOME PURCHASE PLAN The home I want: Price: $0 -> $190,000 $180,000 Ideal Monthly Mortgage (including taxes, PMI, HOA, & hazard) : $1200 (max $1300) $1310 Location: Surrounding Orlando Area Check Bedrooms: 3+ 4 Bathrooms: 2+ 2 Square footage: 1700 s.f. + 1810 sf Year Built: 2000+ 1998 HOA: $100/month max $150/yr NEEDS: * A-rated school district Check * Quick access to major highways Check * Good daycare Check * Nice

Yeah......

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Life has been extremely busy. Trying to get used to the extra responsibilities on top of my existing overflowing list. I will try my hardest to post my do's and don'ts of buying a house tonight. Hope all is well.
