Credit Card Buyers’ Guides And Debt

My Credit Card Zero Debt goal for 2008 is well in progress, but I’m sure I’m not the only one that can use all the help I can get at the moment. Although there are plenty of resources out there for us to look at, I’ve found that buyers’ guides seem to offer the most useful information and one of the best I’ve found is the credit card one at About Your Money. There are too many things in life that stress us out but this guide offers tips on how you can choose the right credit card AND use it to get out of debt!

The interest free credit cards seem to be particularly useful for balance transfers but that doesn’t stop companies laying credit card traps for us. This guide tells you everything you need to know, from the interest rates to the pros and cons of all credit cards and not just the interest free credit cards available, so you can avoid the traps and reduce your debt. There’s also a comparison table thrown in for good measure to help you choose one that can help you!

About Your Money also has a savings accounts guide on the site, and that’s helped me with the Emergency Fund goal! There are plenty of high interest savings accounts to compare so I can begin to make my money work for me! I’ve worked hard enough for it so it’s about time it returned the favor!

Home Purchase Plan - How I faired

Back in January I developed my Home Purchase Plan (HPP for short). I listed exactly what I was looking for in my new home including my needs and wants. I printed up my HPP and carried it will me everywhere. I especially took it with me when I went house hunting with my agent. I had a momentary relapse (I'll explain more on that on another post) but got back on track and stuck to my guns. I ended up with a beautiful house that fits all my needs and wants. HOME PURCHASE PLAN The home I want: Price: $0 -> $190,000 $180,000 Ideal Monthly Mortgage (including taxes, PMI, HOA, & hazard) : $1200 (max $1300) $1310 Location: Surrounding Orlando Area Check Bedrooms: 3+ 4 Bathrooms: 2+ 2 Square footage: 1700 s.f. + 1810 sf Year Built: 2000+ 1998 HOA: $100/month max $150/yr NEEDS: * A-rated school district Check * Quick access to major highways Check * Good daycare Check * Nice

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Life has been extremely busy. Trying to get used to the extra responsibilities on top of my existing overflowing list. I will try my hardest to post my do's and don'ts of buying a house tonight. Hope all is well.
