Extra Income, My first Biz, and an Investment Opportunity

It's been real busy in Dimples' world. I have a couple of things in the works. I'll do separate post on those later.

I am doing good on my budget. I realize that I need to a lot more money in the miscellaneous department. I may actually need to break that up into smaller, more specific categories. I spent $65 bucks for maintenance on my car. Of course I did not have that expense accounted for in my budget. I also had to take my daughter to get her yearly physical and flu shot. The copay was $15. Budgeted?? Nope. I was hoping that the amount I allotted to my miscellaneous category would take care of this stuff but it is not. So I need to work out a way to direct more money towards that category without touching the money I set aside for my debt repayment. Touching this would throw my snowball calculation off track and most likely add a month or two to my payoff due date.

So I am in big time hustlette mode.

Cash Duck is back in business. They are working with a whole different system. You get feathers and can redeem them for gift certificates or a check. It a very reliable "pay to" site. I have been with them since February or March. Based on my earnings history, their new system, and how much time I plan on dedicating, I know I can bring at least $75-$100 in a month. Either it be in the form of a check or gift card to Walmart (which I could then use for groceries).

I joined Vindale Research about a couple of weeks ago. It is a typical "pay to" site. You get between $5-$75 per survey. The site is similar to Cash Duck.......some of the offers are similar also. Payouts are done twice a month, the 15th and the last day of the month. You need to have at least $50 to request payment which is either via paypal or check. I am really liking this site.

Signing back up with Brainfuse. It is an online tutoring site. I joined them back in November and was with them for about 4 months. I started getting real busy at work and had to stop. I made about $50 a week and I only put in 5-6 hours. My money was direct deposited which was definitely a plus. There are requirements to become a tutor. Definitely check them out.

I started up my own online traveling business. Its called Travels Dazzle. The set-up is similar to that of Travelocity or Expedia. Just plug in your requirements and hit search. The results will include the lowest priced fares available online. I did many comparison searches and my site always had the lowest fares. Check it out yourself. You can find great packages on golf, cruises, Caribbean vacations and order flowers. You can also find great deals on hotels and rental cars and discounts on attractions. I have always been interested in traveling even though I haven't done that much. But I plan on changing that. I will definitely be traveling more. So this is an investment for me in more ways than one.

I am looking into purchasing an investment property near Disney in Orlando. One of my friends started up a group called Anything Is Possible. At our first official meeting a gentleman came out to do a presentation about investing in realty. I decided to set up a meeting with him to get further information on this. Basically a developer has a condo community located about 15 minutes from Disney World, 5 minutes form Universal, and in the heart of Orlando. The community is beautiful. Amenities include a bowling alley, steam room and sauna, gym, aerobics room, 3 pools with bars and hot tubs, 24 hours gated security, valet trash, and a children's playroom with on call babysitter. I will basically buy condo and the property management will take care of renting out my unit and handling all business with the renter. I am guaranteed about $50-$100 in rental income per month and nothing comes out my pocket. Of course there is more to it than what I just put but I do not feel like going into detail. I am not one to jump feet first into any opportunity presented to me. I am going to have a lawyer friend of mine look over the contract and related documents and let me know what he thinks. As of right now I am 98% on board with going for it. I'll keep you guys updated.

I have always been a worry wart and scared to take risks. It is time that I step outside the box and be the person making it instead of the one wishing she could make it. Of course I am not going to be reckless with my finances. I have a daughter who relies solely on me. I care too much about her to allow myself into a funky situation. So be rest assured that I will do my research and make sound decisions.
