I love the fact that the moisturizer is not oily at all (unlike other so-called oil-free moisturizers such as Neutrogena).

I have mild acne so I've been using Differin cream in addition to the Cetaphil as prescribed by my Dr. Things are looking better but I haven't been using Differin long enough to give a final verdict.

One thing the Dr. told me was to look for the term "noncomedogenic" on the labels of any product I use on my face b/c that's the only guarantee that it won't clog pores which = fewer breakouts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4291998723817425336.post-15159921383288101612008-03-14T03:41:00.000-04:002008-03-14T03:41:00.000-04:00Get a prescription retinoid like Retin-A, Retin-A ...Get a prescription retinoid like Retin-A, Retin-A Micro, or Tazorac. It helps clear your skin, reduce/remove sun damage, and is clinically proven to help your skin. But talk to your derm about how it might affect darker skin.

I use Philosophy's Purity Cleanser and Murad's Clarifying Cleanser, and Ren (you can get it at Sephora) Balancing Moisturiser.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4291998723817425336.post-3963187272151154552008-03-13T21:55:00.000-04:002008-03-13T21:55:00.000-04:00Thanks everyone for your wonderful advice. Especially since she pointed some key issues that I can relate with (fragrance free products....I break out real bad when I use products with fragrances).

I used to sell Mary Kay. LOL. I used some of their products but I never saw a change in my skin. And I don't want to wait 2 months to see change either.

I have heard about Philosophy but they are expensive. I wanna keep to my $30/month budget.

Proactiv is primarily used for acne and their products will dry my already dry face out.

I am going to set up an appointment to see a dermatologist next week. Once I get feedback from that visit, I will compare it to the list of products you guys have given me and make a decision from there.

Thanks again guys!!!Dimpleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01296051229047912991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4291998723817425336.post-79113882998361086932008-03-13T21:28:00.000-04:002008-03-13T21:28:00.000-04:00I agree with a lot of the posts but if you are loo...I agree with a lot of the posts but if you are looking for something that isn't too expensive, try Cetaphil. I use the face wash and apply the moisturizer daily and it has really helped. My breakouts are minimal and believe me I have TERRIBLE skin. I've tried RX for Brown Skin and it is okay but if I missed a day using it, I was breaking out so bad that I didn't even want to go out but I switched to Cetaphil and my skin just seems to have a glow. It's fragrance free so you don't have to worry about allergies and you can buy it in bulk at Costco. Not to mention, its highly recommended by several dermatologists for african american skin.KHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09583026943551519460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4291998723817425336.post-50302243076234986282008-03-12T18:19:00.000-04:002008-03-12T18:19:00.000-04:00Hey I'm a lurker and I just wanted to share with y...Hey I'm a lurker and I just wanted to share with you what I've been using. I've been using this kit from Philosophy that I got off QVC called Make Up Optional and I'm sure if you type that in the search bar on the site it will come up. It's really been helping my skin and my dark circles have been fading. My boyfriend even commented that my skin looks like it's glowing and he didn't even know I was using something different. It's worth a try.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4291998723817425336.post-28119044752076953312008-03-12T12:40:00.000-04:002008-03-12T12:40:00.000-04:00My sister likes MaryKay. Because of the peroxide in it, it can be drying so I follow up with Vitamin E oil from the Health Food Store as a moisturizer. My skin has improved significantly...significantly. I get positive comments all the time on my skin.

Girlie...keep your hands out of your face. That is my problem too and I would never have a belmish if it weren't for me picking at my face.Chitownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03524244500611541609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4291998723817425336.post-48405509716073801682008-03-12T11:42:00.000-04:002008-03-12T11:42:00.000-04:00Hello! I always enjoy and learn from your ideas and plan.

OK to your question... Have you tried the Mary Kay product line? I've always received rave reviews from my customers and equally love the products myself. There are several skin care lines and I would suggest the Timewise Normal to Dry line (includes matching cleanser and moisturizer)with the following products for your special needs. Microderm abrasion set for evening out skin tone and controlling blemishes. Firming Eye Cream to assist in those dark circles. I've been a consultant for many years and could suggest just the products to try... Here is my site address in case you would be interested in trying the products above... www.marykay.com/ccalhoun
Best of luck!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4291998723817425336.post-70952009840191392472008-03-12T10:38:00.000-04:002008-03-12T10:38:00.000-04:00Okay...so I don't know if this will be a considera...Okay...so I don't know if this will be a consideration that you want to consider, because the products can be pricey...but Aloette has some FABULOUS products. I found them when I attended an in-home show for a friend on mine. I guess if you wanted free/discounted products you could always host an in-home party. You can look at www.aloette.com to find a salesperson in your area.Kayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16037837655750384138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4291998723817425336.post-28368754481246460122008-03-12T09:53:00.000-04:002008-03-12T09:53:00.000-04:00I really like Paula's Choice products www.cosmetic...I really like Paula's Choice products www.cosmeticscop.com
Her products don't come in cute packaging, but they're reasonably priced. They also are very honest about what they will and won't accomplish (you won't look like you had a face lift from using a moisturizer :).

I've also started using Boots (from Target) and I've been pretty happy with the results.

Also, I'm a big fan of Olay! I know! However, the sensitive skin cleanser is awesome for not stripping skin...

You know I have a lot more where that came from. If you have any more questions, just drop me an e-mail for a little product chat. Good luck!SavingDivahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10267021491907810696noreply@blogger.com
